Jean Hair, Research Intern

Graduate Student, Master of Arts and Cultural Management

Jean Hair is a graduate student majoring in arts and cultural management at the University of Melbourne under the National Arts Council (Singapore) postgraduate scholarship. Prior to her postgraduate studies, Jean was a arts programmer with the National Gallery Singapore, Asian Film Archive, and the Esplanade - Theatres on the Bay since 2006. Her research interests include audience development, urban placemaking, social enterprises, and measuring social impact in the arts. 

In 2015, Jean founded Play it Forward Singaporea public piano initiative in Singapore. The initiative was commended by the Ministry of Culture, Community, Youth, and Sports (MCCY) Our Singapore campaign as one of the "ideas that are changing Singapore" in 2016. Play it Forward Singapore now has 22 public pianos placed around various sites in Singapore.
